Manx Cup is a 4 round knockout tournament – 16 entries only – Entries Closed.
ECF rated.
Random draw for each round.
First-round exit qualify for the Manx Plate.
If you decide not to play in the plate after being knocked out of the cup you will be refused entry to the Manx Cup the following year.
For those knocked out rated games can be arranged if required on the Semi-final or Final nights.
Drawn game will result in a shoot out on the night – 5 minute blitz, opposite colours until we have a winner. (Blitz games only commence once all long play games have finished)
Entries Close & 1st Round Draw:
Entries close 3rd December 2024 and the draw will be made on the same day.
Time of play:
Round One – Clocks 7.30pm. (10/12/24)
Quarter-finals – Clocks 7.30pm. (17/12/24)
Semi-finals – Clocks 7.30pm. (04/02/25)
Finals – Clocks 7.30pm. (01/04/25)
Rate of play:
All moves in 60 minutes, plus a 10 seconds per move from first move.
Default time:
20 minutes after clocks.
Organisers:
The Chief Organiser is Brian Woodard.
The Controller’s decision in all matters will be final.
Condition of entry / Personal Information:
You must be a member of the IOM Chess Club and ECF before entry can be accepted. (please do not enter if you are not a member of both of the above)
All results will be submitted to the ECF for grading and it is a condition of entry that players agree to their grading information being published on the IOM Chess Club and ECF websites.

No smoking is allowed in the church or its grounds.
